End of the First Year!

Only 8 days left in this school year! It seems unbelievable that just a year ago we were opening our doors for learning for the first time. What an incredible year it has been! The community is incredible. The teachers work so hard each and every day. They amaze me. As I walked through classrooms on Open House night(s), I was thrilled to see the level of work that the students' produced. I wasn't surprise, but it sure was great to be validated! The teachers are excited about learning and in turn the students are excited about learning. The families care so much about their children and their success. We start on new year in just a few weeks welcoming about 180 new students! I can't wait for them to experience the wonderful things that happen at our school!

Celebrating the Sylvan Family

Two of our teachers will be retiring at the end of this school year. For them, that means this Friday, May 23rd. Together they have providing a nuturing and loving educational environment for our students for over 37 years. In addition, one of our district librarians who holds the value and love for literacy so close to our heart retires after 20 years. Last night we held our annual Sylvan District Retirement Dinner. It is such a joy to see their faces as they are celebrated. The lives that they have touched over the years is invaluable. How lucky they are to leave a legacy in our district that will carry on as new teachers join us and create their own legacy. But most importantly, how lucky our children are to have experienced these incredible ladies.
